Stuart Carruthers

As Founder and Director of Carruthers Executive, Stuart draws on his extensive experience working in the corporate world, and on behalf of executive recruitment agencies to inform his approach to identifying top talent.

With a background in elite sports, Stuart was part of the Bronze Medal winning Australian hockey team at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. This experience, and his continued involvement in the sporting world has been instrumental in building unique insights into the drivers of success, and the importance of teamwork.

After a career of over 20 years at Senior Executive level, and in a range of Executive Search roles, Stuart has combined this professional expertise with his experiences as an Olympic athlete to build a new business model centred around building high performing teams.

With a Bachelor of Business and Marketing from Curtin University, and SHL Accreditation, Stuart has worked across Consumer, Retail and Sporting sectors in a range of roles. Working most recently in a recruitment capacity for prominent Executive Search brands, Stuart leveraged his experience in the business world to recruit a number of Senior Executive roles for top tier organisations.

Stuart’s experience in business has seen him working at an executive level across a range of industries and functions for major brands including Carlton and United Breweries, Coca Cola Amatil, Lion Nathan, and Westpac Banking Corporation. With many of these roles centred around Sales, Marketing, HR, Finance and Strategy, Carruthers Executive is uniquely positioned to recruit for roles of this nature.

Throughout his career, Stuart has developed a passion for coaching and mentoring, drawing on his experience in elite sports and his understanding of the business world.
